01On Windows

  1. Download the Windows installer and open the .exe file.
  2. Follow the installer, then launch BacnBits.
  3. Connect your media server and choose your layout.

02On Android

  1. Download the phone / tablet APK to your Android device.
  2. Open the .apk. If prompted, allow installation from the browser or file manager you used.
  3. Install BacnBits and connect your media server.

03On your TV

  1. Choose the Android TV APK for an Android TV or Google TV device.
  2. Transfer the APK to your TV or download it using your TV’s browser or downloader, then open it to install.
  3. Launch BacnBits from your TV’s app list and connect your server using your remote.

Is BacnBits free?

Yes. BacnBits is free to download and use. No paid BacnBits subscription is required.

Do I need a media server?

Yes. BacnBits connects to your own media server. You’ll need your server address and sign-in details. Your device must be able to reach that server.

How do updates work?

Direct-download builds check the BacnBits update feed for new releases. When an update is available, download the correct installer for your device and approve installation. Keep your existing installation rather than uninstalling it. You can also return to this page for the latest download.

Will the TV APK work on any smart TV?

This TV build is for Android TV and Google TV. It isn’t an app for Roku, Apple TV, Samsung Tizen or LG webOS. It includes 32-bit and 64-bit ARM support.

What does “early test release” mean?

BacnBits is still being tested across devices. You may encounter bugs or differences between platforms. Read the release notes for the current version.
